PASSENGERS planning to use South Western Railway are being told not to travel this morning.

Company bosses are warning of major disruption due to overrunning engineering works in London.

As a result, all lines are blocked between London Waterloo and Surbiton, while Woking, Surbiton, Raynes Park and Earlsfield stations are all closed.

A statement on South Western Railway's twitter said: "Due to overrunning engineering works between London Waterloo and Surbiton all lines are blocked.

"Passengers are advised not to travel. Woking, Surbiton, Raynes Park and Earlsfield stations are currently closed."

South Western Railway say the Network Rail engineering works, which took place over the weekend, were originally due to be cleared by 4.30am this morning.

However, the works will now not be cleared until 8:30am at the earliest.

Until the works clear no trains can leave Wimbledon or Clapham Junction depots.
