THERE were 19 sleek, attractive models at a special event at the National Motor Museum in 1986.

The 19 women were showing off their sleek legs as finalists in the year's Miss Lovely Legs competition which was run by Butlin's.

With not a knobbly knee in sight, the women braved the bitting cold at Beaulieu to pose for the press on March 24, 1986.

The winner with the most shapely pair legs stood to win a first prize of £1,000, a modelling contract with Pretty Polly, and a holiday for two in Tenerife.
