A DREAM came true on Wednesday night when a Hedge End schoolgirl was asked to sing with her idol.

Dannii Murphy, 15, attended a Jessie J concert at the O2 Academy in Bristol on Wednesday, November 14, when she was chosen out of a crowd of thousands to sing with the famous pop artist.

The Old Wildern student made a sign asking to sing the song 'Flashlight'.

Once the song has started, Dannii held up a handmade sign asking to sing the song which was quickly spotted by Jessie who immediately asked for the schoolgirl to be given a mic.

She said: " She noticed the banner and got one of her staff to hand me a mic.

"As soon as I got the mic I was like 'Ok- I have to sing now'.

"It was amazing and its always been a dream of mine."

The duo performed the rest of the song together and the popstar even posted a video of Dannii's performance on her social media platform Instagram, which is followed by 7.4million people.

Dannii has been a fan of Jessie J since she was 9-years-old and first saw her in concert in 2013.

Currently studying for her mock exams, the teen is taking music and drama at school in hope of following in her idol's footsteps.

Dannii hopes to follow music as a future career using artists like Jessie J as her inspiration.

She added: "She was always a big inspiration to me.

"I am hoping to go to the same college she attended in London and chase this as a career."

Dannii has applied for BRIT School for Performing Arts and Technology in London hoping to land a place once she has finished her GCSEs and continue studying music and drama at A Level.

Dannii's dad Martin said: "I couldn't be happier and I couldn't be prouder.

"She is her favourite artists and this has been her dream.

"She has had hundreds of messages online from people who have seen the video."
