A PROLIFIC thief has been banned from entering Westquay after being caught stealing inside it again.

Luke Henning stole more than £1,200 worth of goods on four separate occasions from John Lewis and Boots, bagging items such as Echo speakers and fragrances.

The 37-year-old, who has been convicted 26 previous times for theft matters, was finally arrested on November 12 after taking electrical products from John Lewis.

At Southampton Magistrates’ Court, a business impact statement from John Lewis said: “We are a community business and these incidents impact us because of the kind of business we are.

“It impacts the people who work here.”

Henning, of no fixed abode, pleaded guilty to four counts of theft but was given one final chance to turn his life around by District Judge Peter Greenfield.

He was sentenced to 20 weeks in prison, suspended for two years, and also told to not enter Westquay for two years.
