A HARDWORKING apprentice had his £4k motorbike stolen from outside his home in Southampton.

Callum Knight had his motorcycle stolen from outside his Bassett home on November 3-4 between 11pm and 10am.

The Yamaha MT125 - with the registration plate of HY68UDK - was secured with locks on his drive in Northam Avenue, which were cut off before the bike was taken.

The 20-year-old said: "It was devastating, I was truly devastated.

"It has made everything quite hard, the bike was on finance and I don't get paid much as an apprentice.

"Its difficult to get to work, especially now with all the road works."

"It is my pride and joy."

He added: "We had a lead about where it might be and we told the police but they told me I had to go and check for myself before they would do anything."

Callum is a Highways Operative apprentice working First Avenue, Millbrook.

The bike, which costs £4,200, was under a month old and had only travelled 400 miles.

Callum's partner, Becky Thorpe, said: "The bike meant a lot to him I think even more so as he is on an apprentice wage at 20 and how he used the bike to get to and from work as well as to and from college down by Portsmouth.

"It has caused him a lot of stress especially with the outstanding finance he is left to pay."

A spokesperson from Hampshire Constabulary said: "I can confirm this has been reported and we are investigating as a theft of vehicle."
