November 1968 was a big month for the passing of new laws in the UK, with two bills being enacted into law.
The Race relations act was passed on November 26 which made it illegal to refuse employment, public services or housing to people because of their ethnic background.
On November 30, the Trade Descriptions Act came into effect, preventing manufacturers and retailers from describing goods in a misleading way. The law meant individuals who made false claims about their products or services were open to be punished by the judiciary system.

Music fans were furnished with the classic album The Kinks Are the Village Green Preservation Society by The Kinks on November 22. In 2003 the album was ranked number 255 in Rolling Stone magazine’s list of the 500 greatest albums of all time.
Disaster struck on November 18, when a warehouse fire killed 22 people in Glasgow.
