A BOMB threat has been called in at a Southampton school.
Cantell School revealed that the incident happened at about 12.10pm today - and said that there were three others similar incidents in Southampton.
A statement from the school said emergency services were called to the building and that the threat has been confirmed as a hoax.
Headteacher Harry Kutty said: "I am so incredibly proud of the way our community responded to this threat, staff and students were evacuated in a quick but safe manner and their response throughout was nothing short of exemplary.
"We communicated regularly with parents through Facebook as we could not enter the school building.
"We are grateful for the messages of support received from them.
"During the extended lunch time, my team and I have been out and about speaking with our community, reassuring them of their safety and security.
"Any students who either required or will require any additional support, have or will receive that in due course.
"Our year leaders will continue to check on the welfare and wellbeing of our youngsters during Period 6."
A Hampshire Police statement said: "We are aware of threats made over the telephone to two schools and a university building in Southampton this morning (Wednesday 31 October).
"At this time we are treating this as a hoax and are looking into the circumstances."
