SPOOKS and sparks will be flying at an annual fireworks fundraiser event at a Hampshire school.

Hiltingbury schools in Chandler’s Ford are hosting their annual Spooks and Sparks event on November 1 that combines the fancy-dress fun of Halloween with the fireworks of bonfire night.

Back by popular demand is a DJ to ensure festivities go with a swing and there will also be face painting and a variety of pupil stalls.

Crowds can also feast on Bark & Brisket pulled pork along with a BBQ and home made cake stalls, before the main attraction of a spectacular fireworks display.

The popular event, generously sponsored by estate agent Sparks Ellison, is a fundraiser for both Hiltingbury Infant and Junior schools and is organised by the Parent Teacher Association for the local community to enjoy.

Sophie Liddell from the PTA said: “This is one of the highlights of the year and is a real chance for the community in Chandler’s Ford to get together for an evening of spooks and sparks.”

Tickets for the event which takes place at the Hiltingbury Road schools are priced at £5 and are available from Andersons Newsagents on Hiltingbury Road and the Sparks Ellison office on Winchester Road. Under twos are free. Gates open at 6pm with the display starting at 7pm.
