PEOPLE from across Southampton and beyond came together in a special event to celebrate yoga and raise money for a charity.

The event at the In Balance Hot Yoga studio, the first of its kind in Southampton, raised £350 for No Limits, a charity which offers free and confidential information, advice, counselling, support and advocacy for children and young people under the age of 26 who live in Southampton and Hampshire.

People took part in various different yoga sessions throughout the day including Hatha Yoga, Hot Dynamic Yoga and Yin Yoga. There were also workshops on mindfulness, how to deal with stress and nutrition and yoga sessions and crafts for children.

People attending the event were encouraged to make a £5, £10 or £15 donation.

Benedita Sousa organised the event and said: “We are so pleased that so many people came and supported the event. Yoga can be so beneficial for the body and mind. Not only are you working your body and improving your strength and mobility, but you are also exercising your mind. We hope that this is just the beginning of many more events like this.”
