TICKETS for the annual Round Table Bonfire and Fireworks Night are now on sale in the city.

This will be the 60th anniversary of the event and is set to take place on November 3.

Hundreds of people will march through the city, starting from King Alfred's Statue, before ending up at the North Walls Recreational Ground, where the bonfire will be lit.

Sam Farzam, bonfire chairman from Winchester Round Table said: "We look forward to welcoming all the wonderful people of Winchester and surrounding areas who along with their donations and ticket purchases help us raise over £65,000 which all goes to helping local charities.

"The local charities we have supported vary from a wheelchair basketball team and local schools to those children who care for others and need some light relief from their duties.

"As Chairman of the Bonfire 2018 and on behalf of all those at Winchester Round Table, I would like to extend a big thank you in advance for the support given from all the suppliers and the general public, as without you, this event wouldn’t be where it is now.”

Several locations in the city centre, including the Tourist Information building and the Discovery Centre are currently selling tickets to the public.

Standard tickets cost £5 and will be on sale until the day.

Programmes for the event will also be posted through the doors of Winchester homes throughout the month of October.
