AN EXTREME sports team from Southampton have been sponsored by a local IT provider.

Colva Ltd, an IT provider based in Southampton, have played an active role keeping DC Cycles riders kitted out in the latest high-quality safety gear and covering competition entry fees.

From grass roots to Olympic recognition, DC Cycles have achieved great success with both BMX and mountain bike (MTB) teams, of which have enjoyed global success in world qualifiers.

Colva Ltd are an IT hardware, services and solution provider with their head office located on Millbrook Road, who pride themselves in first class customer service whilst delivering business changing solutions.

Founded in 2012 by Ashley Fernandes, Colva is growing year on year with offices now in London and Gibraltar.

BMX and MTB are both high action impact sports and with high-end protective gear, the riders can walk away from any crashes with minimal damage to themselves.

This has led to the funding of 18 riders so far this year.

DC Cycles is a Southampton bike shop offering an extensive range of cycle related services to the Hampshire area and further afield.

The company currently have seven BMX team riders invited to represent Great Britain in the world championships in Holland this year.

Through involvement with the student and community Outreach program, DC Cycles have been able to organise local race nights.

The students receive free of charge coaching before taking on the thrill of the races later and each race has an entry fee of £1, which goes back into the upkeep of the bike park.

The founder of DC Cycles, Denham Elvin, was nominated in the Pride of Britain Awards in 2017 and placed in the top 8 of which led to an invite to the House of Commons to present to the judges.

From there, Denham was put forward for the Pride of Sport Awards of which he won.
