SHE was the powerful and glamorous star of a hit 90s TV show.

But today Jet from Gladiators was on hand to offer tips on how to keep fit at this year’s Boat Show.

The athlete was invited to try out the latest product from luxury firm Princess Yachts.

Jet – aka Diane Youdale, 48 – took the helm of a Princess R/Evolution 2, the £500,000 power boat launched this year and developed with Ben Ainslie Racing.

Speaking to the Echo she said: “I’m always on or around the sea. I was surfing for about twenty years and always out on boats. I’m always happy to be on or by the sea.”

City centre venue the Grand Cafe also held a Ladies Day even with Prosecco, lunch and bingo for more than one hundred women - all in aid of charity.

The event started at 11.30am where guests were welcomed with a complimentary glass of Prosecco, followed by lunch provided by the cafe.

As well as celebrating Ladies Day, the event was a bid to raise money for the Liver and Pancreatic Cancer Charity.

The cafe also hosted a bingo game to help raise funds to donate to the charity.

Business development manager and event organizer Lucy Richmond said: "We put this event on every year catering for the ladies at the boat show.

"This year, we are raising my key for a pancreatic cancer charity.

"It's a great day for the ladies to get dressed up with their friends.”Tickets for the event cost £45 and £5 of each ticket was donated to the charity.
