IT IS one of the oldest forms of English dancing.
Up to 200 Morris dancers took to the streets for a day of dance over the weekend.
The second annual Folk Dance Southampton saw 15 teams of dancers show their skills at points around the city.
Timed to coincide with the Southampton Boat Show, organisers said the public had given “fantastic support” with “a great atmosphere”.
Organiser John Connell from Southampton’s King John’s Morris Men said: “The dancers have really enjoyed being in Southampton because there are so many people about to watch them and a nice big audience. It’s been a great atmosphere.”
The inaugural event took place last year.
