FURTHER to Lawrie McMenemy's report on the "shocking" state of Southampton Cemetery on Saturday, we do hope that this comment by a local celeb will help in addition to all the other letters in the Echo this year regarding this.
However, I am sure Southampton council will say there's no money to put towards a tidy-up, in which case wouldn't it be a good idea for the mayor and all his councillors to spend a half-day during a weekend or a couple of hours after work to be volunteers there?
It would mean a lot to the residents of Southampton and also to the visitors to the Belgian graves.
