A MOTORCYCLIST who was seriously injured in a collision in Southampton has died in hospital.

Officers were called at 7am on Friday (August 31) to reports of a collision involving a motorcycle and a Ford Transit van on Howard Road, by the forecourt to Addenro House Hotel.

The motorcyclist, a 35-year-old man from Fair Oak, was taken to Southampton General Hospital with life-threatening injuries where he died on Saturday afternoon (September 1).

The driver of the van, a 49-year-old man, was uninjured.

Investigations into the exact circumstances of the collision are ongoing and Police are still appealing to anyone who saw what happened, or who may have seen either vehicle prior to the incident.

Officers would also like to hear from anyone who was driving in the area and has a dash cam, as they may have captured something that could help.
