A NORTH BADDESLEY man has been handed a prison sentence after stealing hundreds of pounds worth from Bradbeers in Romsey.

Colin James Wood, 37, of Rownhams Road in North Baddesley, pleaded guilty at Southampton Magistrates' Court to stealing a number of goods from the department store as part of a £400 theft spree.

The 37-year-old, who is also known under the alias 'badger', admitted entering Bradbeers, on Bell Street, on May 17 and stealing £280 worth of male and female perfumes.

Then, less than a month later, on June 15, he also went into the Co-op on Nursling Street in Nursling, and stole £130 worth of meat, alcohol, confectionary and a magazine.
