A MAJOR Hampshire motorway is closed after a 10 vehicle pile up.
Emergency services were called the scene between junction 7 (Basingstoke) and junction 8 (Popham) of the southbound M3 at 8.03am this morning (Monday, 23 July) to reports of a small vehicle fire.
However, upon arrival it emergency services were met with a 10-vehicle collision blocking two lanes of the motorway.
#M3 southbound closed between junctions 7 and 8 following a multi-vehicle collision. Diversions off junction 8 and onto the A303. Tailbacks and long delays as a result, so avoid this route for the next few hours. We will keep you updated. Full details >>> https://t.co/NRw8vZatF0 pic.twitter.com/BO3Be09337
