RESIDENTS are facing a scorching morning without water after a pipe burst earlier today.

Southern Water were alerted to the leak shortly before 7am which has left residents in Chandler's Ford, Bassett and Chilworth without a supply.

A spokesman for the supplier said: "We are aware of a burst in Chandlers Ford. Our team is on the way to investigate and make the necessary repairs.

"Sometimes repairs take longer than we’d like, as we need to complete numerous checks and tests.

"We apologise for any inconvenience caused and we thank you for your patience."

The burst comes as temperature will continue to soar today. According to forecasters at the Met Office, temperatures in Bassett will remain at around 26C.

Experts have also issued a 'high' UV warning in the area.
