THE SUN is shining, the weather is sweet and if it makes you feel like moving your dancing feet – family friendly festival, Jerk Jam, takes place tomorrow at Houndhill Farm in Titchfield.

With an incredible line-up that includes performances from British soul singer Omar, best known for his debut single There's Nothing Like This, electronic music pioneers 808 State, Bob Marley tribute band Legend, British rave duo Altern8 plus Southampton collective Foor and south coast kings of skifflebilly swing, Junco Shakers, Jerk Jam is all about family.

The idea is to create a one love vibe where revellers and the kids can kick back, relax and enjoy the day.

There'll be no additional charges for the bouncy castles, inflatables, ball pit, rodeo bull, tea cup ride, face paints, body paints, glitter, arts, crafts and you’ll also be able to race segways around a mini race track, browse the market stalls, watch the magicians and circus performers and of course enjoy the eclectic and varied live music on offer on one of the three stages.

Jerk Jam also brings the fringe spotlight to theatre, dance, puppetry, visual and performance arts and its annual cooking battle, Jerk Off – in a giant boxing ring, chefs from all over the country will battle it out on authentic Jerk Pan BBQ’s. The winner will be crowned with a hand-made Jerk pan for cooking up the most exciting spiced meat dish, novelty name also being important.

Expect a gripping display full of giggles, with London’s White Men Can't Jerk providing banter and vibes and fellow street food giants, Union BBQ, judging in the ring.

Best of all, all the food cooked is given to the crowd for free tasting!

Jerk Jam began from humble back garden beginnings when a group of overly competitive music fans who had spent many years enjoying the offerings of Notting Hill Carnival decided to host a BBQ for their family and friends.

As the music crept louder people began to congregate around the jerk pan, sampling food, giving opinions and issuing challenges.

It became apparent this was no mere BBQ, this was a contest.

At the end of the evening someone commented that they should 'do it every year', and so they did – Jerk Jam was born and it's now evolved into a fully-fledged, ultra-chill celebration of Caribbean food, live music and good times.

With a whole bunch of the finest of street food vendors littering the festival, and an independent campsite adjacent to the festival, priced at £5 per tent, £8 per campervan and £10 per motorhome at the campsite gate, there really is something for everyone, so blaze up the BBQ and turn up the heat...it's time to party.

Adult tickets cost £25 and children over the age of eight are £10, more information can be found at: www.jerkjam.co.uk.
