THE work of carers has been recognised.

Ten care workers have been recognised for their service and dedication to vulnerable people with an awards ceremony held at The View Bar in Southampton.

Carewatch, a national provider of home care, held the event to celebrate members of its Isle of Wight and Southampton care teams.

Anne Fry, Dawn Ashley, Jo Wills, Carol Wilkinson, Jenny Ryan, Helen lally, Barbara Hickling, Catherine Moody, Brigette Minassian, and April Davy are the ten carers who have seen their work recognised.

Collectively, they have worked for Carewatch for 125 years.

All of them celebrated a milestone anniversary in their employment at the company, ranging from five to more than 20 years.

Jo Wills, who worked for Carewatch for more than 20 years, said: “I love my job as a carer because I am serving the community and making a difference to service users’ independence.

“I have met the most wonderful people that I truly love and care for. I am so grateful to work with such a wonderful team.

“We all work together very well and always help each other when needed.”

At the awards ceremony all of the ten carers were presented with awards along with a certificate, a pin badge and Love2shop gift vouchers.

They also received words of thanks from area manager Chris Koymans and a letter of praise from Carewatch CEO Scott Christie.

Chris said: “We are delighted to give something back by presenting our devoted carers with tokens of appreciation.

“These individuals are compassionate, considerate and genuinely wish to make a difference to the lives of others. We are so proud to have them as part of the Carewatch family.”

Carewatch has been delivering care and support services to people across the UK since 1993.
