EAGER football fans aiming to get home before tonight's kick-off will make rush hour hit earlier today, the AA has warned.

It's been reported that the RAC believe roads will be busier at 5pm, with sport fans trying to make it home in time for England's game against Croatia.

That game kicks off at 7pm, and will see the winner progress into the World Cup final.

Southern and Great Northern rail firms are also expecting late-afternoon and early evening services being extremely busy, it has been reported.

According to reports, the AA believes that with millions wanting to get home early this evening, the roads after 7pm will be "much quieter than on Christmas Day".
