AS ENGLAND take part in their biggest football match for almost 30 years, fans have been left disappointed that a big screen will not be showing the game in the city.

But fear not. Here's a list of dozens of pubs from across the county who are showing England's semi-final match against Croatia on Wednesday, July 11.

On Monday, Southampton City Council said due to logistics, safety concerns and a lack of availability of suitable city centre spaces, it would be unable to commit to showing the match at short notice.

Southampton Independents councillor Andrew Pope hit out at the authority, saying screens should have been set up across the city since the start of the World Cup.

The match kicks off at 7pm, with England hoping to reach their first World Cup final since 1966.

Bars in Southampton, WinchesterRomseyEastleighGosport and Fareham will be showing the game live.
