FANS would probably expect a France and Barcelona star to be focussing on football, given that his national team is playing in a World Cup semi final this evening.

But as it turns out, Ousmane Dembele has been thinking about success with a Hampshire club instead.

The hotly-tipped 21-year-old has been using his down time between France games managing ‘Winchester FC’ on the game Football Manager.

In a series of tweets, Dembele revealed he is hoping to see the side reach the heights of the Premier League.

According to reports, Dembele is also aiming to bring “a South American atmosphere in the stadium”.

Currently, Winchester City FC, known as the Citizens, play the matches in the Southern Football League Division One South and West, although it was not clear if was the Citizens or a new team, as some national reports have suggested.

Fans have been quick to poke fun at the news, with Winchester City’s Wikipedia page being altered to list Dembele as their manager, rather than their current boss Craig Davis.

In the online videos, Dembele is seen joking with teammate and World Cup golden boot hopeful Antoine Griezmann, with accusations of cheating being levelled against the £100million-rated forward.

On the French teams twitter page, they said: “Already suspicions of cheating at the Winchester FC of @Dembouz... we’re going to conduct the investigation!”

In response, Winchester City FC have said they’ve already shipped a shirt out to France.

Dembele was born in Vernon, France, near Paris, and played for Rennes before German side Borussia Dortmund signed him for a reported 15 million Euros.

The Frenchman then moved to Spanish giants Barcelona for £97million.

He will be hoping to feature in the World Cup action tonight when France face Belgium for a place in the final.

The Echo has tried to get in touch with Dembele to see how successful his Winchester side has been.
