RUNNERS laced up for the biggest ever runway race over the weekend.
Around 700 runners got off to a flying start at Southampton Airport for this year’s Runway Run.
The 5k course began at 6am so the runway could be cleared ready for commercial flights, and for the second year running, all proceeds went towards the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance, which is the airport’s chosen charity of the year.
More than £17,000 has been raised for the ambulance service.
