AN unexploded bomb found in the New Forest has been removed, police bosses says.
As previously reported, emergency services rushed to an area of open heathland between Beaulieu and Dibden Purlieu, following the discovery of an unexploded bomb.
The device is believed to date from the First World War.
A spokesman for Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service described it as a 'historical un-exploded ordnance'.
Emergency services rushed to the scene at around 3pm on Friday and the area remained cordoned off until 8.25pm.
Police said no roads were closed and no homes were evacuated but the public was advised to avoid the area.
Police officers, firefighters from Redbridge, Beaulieu, Winchester and Totton and the Explosive Ordnance Disposal team (EOD) were called to the scene.
A spokeswoman for Hampshire Police confirmed the EOD team removed the bomb and emergency services left the scene at around 8.30pm.
