MORE than 200 scouts, guides, beavers, rainbows and their family and friends headed to Copythorne Carival for the 71st annual event.
With steam engines, cart races, a dog show and tugs-of-war there was fun for all the family at the Romsey Road site.
Organiser and leader of the Copythorne scout group Joy Sellwood said: “We had a wonderful turnout. The floats have been wonderful.”
This year 11 floats - from pre-schoolers to the WI - took their place on the field to be judged before making their way round the carnival route.
The three day event continued with a steam rally on Sunday and a 5k fun run on Monday night.
The aim was to raise £6000 to cover costs - with any extra cash going towards a new kitchen for the scout hut or a new marquee - this year the beer tent had to be hired.
Ms Sellwood added: “We can’t be a scout group without a proper tent!”
She also thanked the Hickman farmers for use of the field for car parking.
