EASTLEIGH is set for a summer of music as popular events return to the town centre.
Throughout the summer local buskers, bands, choirs and singers will take to Eastleigh’s bandstand every Saturday and Sunday to entertain residents.
From soul, brass band music and folk to rock and pop there will be something for all musical tastes at the events that will run from noon to 4pm.
Residents will have the chance to pull up a deck chair or have a picnic and enjoy the performances.
The initiative is part of the Bandstand Busking In Eastleigh, a project supported by the borough council and programmed by The Point theatre-based SoCo Music Project.
Cllr Paul Bicknell, deputy council leader, said: “It’s a positive event and it will be a nice community entertainment.
“It was a success last year and I’m confident it will be a success this year, there’s no reason why it shouldn’t.
“I hope people in Eastleigh will support it.”
Southampton band Inferior Complex will perform on June 9 from 12noon to 2pm.
