MORE than 100 guests enjoyed a celebratory barbecue at the official opening of a garden dedicated to the Breast Cancer Haven.
The Titchfield-based charity - which offers bespoke counselling and therapies for people diagnosed with breast cancer - thanked volunteers for their work at a special event at award-winning Hampshire garden design company Hambrooks.
In celebration of volunteer week 2018, Breast Cancer Haven’s centre in Wessex held their Summer Celebration Party with special guest award-winning vintage entertainer, cabaret producer and hostess Dawn Gracie.
Hambrooks’ assistant manager Frankie Banting said: “We are always keen to support a local charity and our partnership with Breast Cancer Haven is just perfect because we have the facilities to create a garden of peace and tranquillity. Visitors of Breast Cancer Haven – or anyone - can come here to sit and enjoy the highly visual and scented ambiance of this pretty garden.”
BBC South Today presenter Sally Taylor showed her support by officially cutting the ribbon to open the Breast Cancer Haven ‘pink’ garden.
