A MAN caught nearly three times the drink drive limit has been sentenced.

Mathieu Flynn pleaded guilty to driving while above the legal alcohol limit at a hearing in Southampton Magistrates' Court.

When the 20-year-old was pulled over on Winchester Street, Southampton, and was found to have 99mg of alcohol in 100ml of breath. The legal limit is 35mg.

He also pleaded guilty to causing distress and alarm to Simon Mynett and Michal Kalinowski.

Flynn, of Netley Firs Road, Hedge End, was given a 12-month community order, with the requirement to carry out 160 hours unpaid work.

He was ordered to pay £1,000 compensation, £85 costs and £85 victim surcharge.
