1 In Southampton...

This weekend new death-defying Circus Vegas is at Mayflower Park in the city. With jaw dropping acts, scintillating costumes and the funniest of Clowns, you will be sitting on the edge of your seats when not falling off them with laughter. Housed inside its huge stars and stripes big top, Circus Vegas merges elements of circus with all the glitz, glamour and spectacle that you would imagine when you think Vegas. Amazing high wire walkers combine with a hula-hoop queen, quick change artistes, wheel of death performers and a strong man who has a truck driven over him. Merging Las Vegas traditions and contemporary styles with extreme stunts and classic clown escapades, audiences will be amazed by the jam-packed Circus Vegas and their show-stopping performances.

2 In Bishopstoke...

On Saturday between 2pm and 4pm, Bishopstoke Methodist Church is holding a three mile guided bluebell walk in Stoke Park Woods, led by guide Bernard Bennett and then back to the church for tea, coffee and cake. The walk is child friendly and costs £5 per person towards the church roof fundraiser. Suitable clothing is advised, including stout shoes or wellies and waterproofs. Broadlands Country Show takes place on Sunday and Monday in the spectacular grounds of the Broadlands Estate. The falconry-orientated show will boast world-class fieldsports competitions, have-a-go opportunities, as well as exhilarating acts and displays. An established event of over 25 years, Broadlands Country Show has acquired the British Falconry and Raptor Fair to feature this year.

4 In Fair Oak...

What better activity to take the kids along to this bank holiday Monday than a spot of #BeMyRock painting and decorating at Itchen Valley Country Park between 10am and 2pm. The National Fostering Agency’s rock painting and treasure hunting initiative is encouraging supporters to start painting, hiding, sharing and finding rocks and stones with the #BeMyRock tag on the back. By joining the #BeMyRock Facebook group, and sharing pictures of your hides and seeks, you will be helping to raise awareness of the need in the UK for an increasing number of reliable fostering caring ‘rocks’ for the 77,000+ children currently needing care. There is no charge although voluntary donations towards partner charity Place2Be will be most welcome.

Join Oasis Down to Earth Farm on Saturday between 10am and 3pm for their Spring Festival! They have live music from Mostly Harmless, yummy food at Julie’s Kitchen cafe, kids activities, face painting, story telling, craft stalls and lots of lovely animals to meet. Oasis Down to Earth Farm is a community centre with a difference, based on a farm in urban Southampton.

6 In Lee-on-the-Solent...

Enjoy Bank Holiday Monday out on the water for a unique flight around the Solent and see the Hovertravel craft put through its paces on a pleasure flight! The Pleasure Trip includes a 15 minute Hovercraft demo ride where you can experience unique manoeuvres such as 360 spins, deflation of the ingenius skirt, the rare opportunity to interact with one of the Pilots and many more surprises. Rides cost £15.00 per adult (16yrs+), £6.00 per child (5-15yrs) and £4.00 per infant (0-4yrs).

The Downton Cuckoo Fair takes place on Saturday between 10am and 4.30pm, and it’s friendly, fun and free to enjoy. With a family-friendly festival atmosphere, the fair is held on the village greens in the picturesque village of Downton, on the edge of the New Forest. With over 250 craft, gift, homeware and food and drink stalls on the greens and in marquees along The Borough, the Downton Cuckoo Fair offers fun for all the family, including rural craft demonstrations, Punch and Judy, clowns, fairground stalls and roundabouts in the Memorial Gardens and a farmers produce market in the car park behind the Co-op.

On Sunday, Bristol-based maker of nonsense and rock ‘n’ roll theatre shows Ed Patrick (aka Kid Carpet) brings his ridiculous and funny children’s story Noisy Holiday to NST City as part of NST’s expanded programme of theatre for families. Noisy Holiday is the fourth instalment of the Noisy Animals adventure. They’ve had a dance contest, they’ve been to space, they’ve caused bedlam in Bethlehem, and now it is time for them to go on a nice relaxing holiday. But how will Kid Carpet manage to keep everyone happy when he can’t even get them in the car? Combining live music, theatre, comedy, puppetry and animation, this lively show promises silliness and mischief for the whole family.

10 In Hedge End...

Paw yourself a cuppa and pick a cake or two to help raise vital funds for the Blue Cross animal charity at Botleigh Grange Hotel between 12.30 and 3.30pm! There will be a Pop up Paws For Tea cafe with the addition of home made doggy pick and mix and Pupcakes. Blue Cross branded goodies will be on sale and there will also be a raffle with lots of chances to win really some great prizes. The event is hosted by Parkers Paws, Goodall Dog Training and Natalie Light Dog Training and Behaviour. Everyone is welcome, but there is limited space for dogs.
