IT’S the military-inspired obstacle course and it was back yesterday for its sixth course at a Hampshire estate.

The General course at the Matterley Estate near Winchester boasted more than 20 obstacles over the 10km stretch.

There were obstacles of water, tyres, climbing frames, even a tank.

Participants also had the option of simulating the role of servicemen by carrying round with them a prop that emulates the British Army’s SA80 rifle.

Weighing approximately 5kg this additional option was not everyone’s cup of tea but is aimed at the more extreme individual.

This course saw applicants take on military themed challenges such as the White Cliffs of Dover tyre stack challenge and the “Top Secret” challenges that kept participants in suspense as to what it might involve.

The course is set amongst ancient woodland and rolling downland.

areas of scientific interest, undulating terrain and spectacular views which claims to offer everything you’ll need it to be whether you’re a novice runner or a pro.

Entry starting at £16 for the trail run and £30 for the obstacle race.
