TRIBUTES have been paid to two motorcyclists who were killed in crashes just hours apart from each other.

A 34-year-old man from Southampton was pronounced dead after a crash near Brockenhurst, with a 27-year-old biker from the city killed in an accident with a car on Thomas Lewis Way.

Tributes have poured in on social media to the bikers, with police asking the public to come forward with information about both incidents.

At 11.54pm on Friday night, the 27-year-old from Southampton was pronounced dead at the scene outside St Denys station on Thomas Lewis Way.

Officers say they are still trying to establish what happened.

The collision involved a red Suzuki bike and a silver Vauxhall Corsa.

The man’s next-of-kin have been informed.

Then, shortly after 7am on Saturday morning, police shut the A337 near Setley, Brockenhurst, after a 34-year-old man from Southampton crashed into a tree driving his Honda Cross Runner.

Residents took to social media to post their tributes and condolences.

Richard Phelps said: “RIP fellow bikers. My thoughts are with the families at this tragic time.

Alison Hughes posted: “This is so sad to read and such a young age too.”
