1 In Totton...

Go along to Testwood Sports College tomorrow at 11.30am and make a ceramic Poppy which will be placed in the Totton WW1 Memorial display in October 2018. You will be able to personalize your Poppy with initials to enable it to be found again once removed and return it to you for your enjoyment. The Poppies will be high fired to prevent frost damage, then painted in either red, white or blue durable spray paint.

Suitable for ages seven and over – young people under the age of 11 must be accompanied by an adult at all times. There is a £10 contribution per poppy made, all materials will be provided and refreshments are available.

2 In Southampton...

Winchester Science Centre and Planetarium is bringing the world of science to Westquay Shopping Centre this weekend, as part of British Science Week.

This scientific pop-up exhibition includes loads of free hand-on activities in the Invention Studio and a new live show – The Secret World of Gases.

The hands-on demonstrations and live science shows are repeated throughout the weekend from 10am on Level 2 of Westquay Shopping Centre, Southampton.

3 In Winchester...

Unleash the science in your kitchen cupboard this weekend! BBC science presenter Jon Chase is back live at Winchester Science Centre & Planetarium to present a series of fun, demo-led family shows about what science you can create yourself at home using cooking ingredients and household items.

Make use of store cupboard ingredients and households items, as Jon proves science isn’t limited to high-tech laboratories in this fun series. Jon’s unique style is dynamic, entertaining and highly memorable. Enjoy a show as part of a full day out at Winchester Science Centre and Planetarium. Live shows are at 11am, 12.30pm, 2pm and 3.30pm on Saturday and at 11am, 12.30pm and 2pm on Sunday.

4 In Locks Heath...

Pyjama Drama is putting on The Invisible Super Hero Show at Locks Heath Shopping Village tomorrow at 3pm.

Sam the superhero is poorly, she’s covered in spots & has to stay in bed. But who will save the world from the grumpy Misery Monsters...? Ok everyone, it’s up to us! Grab your capes & masks and come along on an imaginative interactive adventure and explore new lands, take on a range of roles and meet new characters, developing a whole range of skills along the way! Children can sing, dance, play drama games and, of course, do lots and lots of pretending. You don’t need props or costumes - all you need is a little imagination!

The show is followed by a craft activity and refreshments for adults and children.

Peppa Pig and friends are back in a brand new live show, Peppa Pig’s Adventure, at Theatre Royal Winchester this weekend, with three shows on each day.

Join Peppa as she gets ready to go on an exciting camping trip to the woods with George and her school friends, including Pedro Pony, Suzy Sheep and Gerald Giraffe. With lunch-boxes packed and Daddy Pig driving the bus, Peppa and friends are excited about their outdoor adventure, full of games, laughter and live music!

The happy campers soon settle down to sleep and listen to the gentle pitter-patter of rain. Safe and warm inside their tents the excited group can look forward to morning time, when there will be lots of muddy puddles to play in!

Join Colden Common Pre-School for their famous Easter Egg Hunt tomorrow between 11am and 3pm. Venture around the village in search of clues to decipher the code and receive a chocolate egg! It’s all the fun of the fair at B Cole & Sons funfair in Hamble Lane between 1 and 9pm this weekend. There’s plenty of thrills for all the family at this family-run fair. Drive the dodgems, ride the waltzer or take to the air on the Chair-o-planes, before slowing it down on the roundabouts and bouncy castles.

Paddington 2 (PG) is showing tomorrow in the first in a new season of Saturday Morning Movies at Hanger Farm. Settled in with the Brown family, Paddington the bear is a popular member of the community who spreads joy and marmalade wherever he goes. One fine day, he spots a pop-up book in an antique shop, the perfect present for his beloved aunt’s 100th birthday. When a thief steals the prized book, Paddington embarks on an epic quest to unmask the culprit before Aunt Lucy’s big celebration.

10 In Shedfield...

Spring has sprung at Westlands Farm Shop as they open the farm for the first of their lambing days this weekend. Meet the new arrivals from 10am until 4pm on both Saturday and Sunday, where there will be lots of sheep and lambs to see, a nice warm barn to sit in, food and drinks and facepainting Westland’s ewes are brought indoors for lambing in March, allowing for careful monitoring during to make sure everything runs smoothly. Entry Adults £5.00 Children £2.50. Please note for health reasons pregnant women should not attend this event.
