The following cases were among those heard at Southampton Magistrates’ Court:

JOHN VICTOR BORE, 45, of HMP Winchester, found guilty of two counts of assault by beating in Southampton. Committed to prison for 26 weeks and ordered to pay victim surcharge of £115.

LANCE ROY SCHOLES, 59, of no fixed abode, pleaded guilty to stealing £78.86 of meat from Tesco in Southampton. Also admitted breaching discharge for a previous theft offence. Committed to prison for 56 days and ordered to pay victim surcharge of £115.

ARMAN JARIF MIAH, 21, of Crofton Close, Southampton, pleaded guilty to driving while under the influence of cannabis. Had 6.6 micrograms of drug per litre of blood. Disqualified from driving for two years, fined £1,000, ordered to pay court costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £100.

DANNY BRIAN PALMER, 29, of Oslo Towers, Southampton, indicated guilty plea to stealing £317.95 of clothes from Sports Direct in Southampton. Fined £200, ordered to pay court costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £30.

DONNIE GARY SHAW, 19, of Careys Road, Thornhill, Southampton, pleaded guilty to assaulting an ambulance worker in Southampton. Also admitted breaching a suspended prison sentence. Committed to prison for 14 weeks. Also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £115.

LINDSY VICTORIA WILLSHER, 32, of Cedar Road, Hythe, pleaded guilty to drink driving. Had 83 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. Disqualified for 18 months, fined £450, ordered to pay court costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £85.

ALEXANDR BEREZANSKI, 26, of Honeysuckle Road, Swaythling, Southampton, pleaded guilty to driving while disqualified and driving without insurance. Committed to prison for four months, suspended for two years. Also ordered to pay court costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £115.

WILLIAM HENRY CASTLE, 57, of Ranmore Court, Dibden, pleaded guilty to stealing beauty products worth £184.96 from TK Maxx in Southampton. Also stole £72 worth of meat from Morrison’s in Totton. Also pleaded guilty to taking a car without consent and driving without insurance. Committed to prison for five months, disqualified from driving for two years and ordered to pay victim surcharge of £115.

DONALD COLIN HAROLD FRASER-RENNIE, 31, of Furnavar Street, Stoke-on-Trent, indicated guilty plea to attempting to steal a designer handbag worth £547.50. Also pleaded guilty to causing alarm or distress through threatening words or behaviour and failing to surrender to the courts. Committed to prison for 56 days.

ROTHIPHAT THAOPHAYUNG, 21, of Verran Road, Camberley, pleaded guilty to driving whilst unfit through drugs in Hedge End. Disqualified from driving for two years, fined £1,000, ordered to pay court costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £100.

BRIAN HAMISH JACKSON, 51, of Paynes Road, Southampton, pleaded guilty to stealing meat worth £34.27 from Sainsbury’s. Also pleaded guilty to stealing £32.88 and £47.90 of food from International Stores on two separate occasions. Community order made and ordered to pay £32.88 in compensation.

EMMA LOUISE URQUHART, 36, of Jackie Wigg Garden, Totton, pleaded guilty to assaulting a shop detective in Southampton. Committed to prison for three month suspended for 12 months. Ordered to pay compensation of £200 and court costs of £85.

ABDIL CHOUDHURY of Balfour Road, Southampton, proved in absence to have driven a car having made a declaration under the Road Vehicles (Statutory Off-Road Notification) that the car would not be used. Fined £660, ordered to pay vehicle excise back duty of £98.34 and costs of £90.

MANSOUR HUSSAIN JAFFARY, 30, of Northam Road, Southampton, proved in absence to have kept an unlicensed vehicle on a public road. Fined £220, ordered to pay vehicle excise back duty of £45.84, and pay costs of £90.

ABBIE DAISY HENDERSON, 26, of Redbridge Hill, Southampton, pleaded guilty to assault by beating. Conditionally discharged for 12 months, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £20 and court costs of £40.
