A PRESENTATION to the public by South Western Railway due to take place today has been cancelled.

Senior stakeholder manager Phil Dominey was due to speak about how the company is managing its recently acquired seven year franchise.

Open to anyone who uses the SWR service the meeting would have started at 1pm today at Above Bar Church.

It was organised by the Wessex branch of Railfuture - who promote use and development of rail services.

A spokesperson for Railfuture said: "There are train problems meaning that some people can't make it so I don't know if they've done it for the punters or for the main man."

On the agenda were proposals for a station to serve the Welborne development at Fareham, and reopening the Waterside line to link the Fawley redevelopment.
