A HAMPSHIRE charity is celebrating a major milestone and is asking the community to help support disadvantaged children.

Wave 105 Cash for Kids launched its 1,000 Faces campaign at the end of January calling for 1,000 people to pledge a total of £100,000 for disadvantaged children across the south.

Now the charity appeal has hit the halfway mark, with 500 people signed up to raise £100.

Among organisations taking part in the charity event is the Tigers Children’s Motorcycle Display Team from Lee-on-the-Solent, which is raising money at its displays.

Samantha Tanner, charity manager for Wave 105 Cash for Kids, said: “We have been delighted with the response from those who have already signed up, and a massive thank you to those who took part last year.

“In 2017, we raised over £114,000 through 1,000 Faces and this money has enabled us to give out grants to help thousands of children across the south.

“1,000 Faces is a community fundraising initiative. It brings together people with a common goal of raising money for disadvantaged children in their area.”
