A DRIVER has been banned for drink driving in Winchester city centre.

Anicka Weimer, 22, was in a 66-reg Ford Fiesta when stopped by police on North Walls on February 4, magistrates in Basingstoke heard.

Weimer of Barry, south Wales, admitted the charge. Her alcohol reading was 90 micrograms in 100 millilitres of breath when the legal limit is 35.

She was disqualified for 23 months and ordered to pay a £30 victim surcharge and £85 costs. The ban will be cut by 23 weeks if she passes an approved driving course.
