POLICE have issued CCTV images after a teenager was attacked outside a Southampton city centre shop two months ago.

A 16-year-old boy was grabbed around the neck and passed out and a security guard who went to help him was then punched.

Officers were called to Boots in Above Bar Street at about 6.50pm on December 3, but have only now released details of the incident.

The boy was taken to hospital for treatment and the security guard did not suffer any injuries.

Now police want to speak to two people.

PC Matthew Manning said: “We have been carrying out several enquiries since this assault took place but now we are appealing to the public for their help.

“We know that the CCTV images are not great quality, but we are hoping that someone will know who they are.

“We believe that they will have vital information which could help our investigation, so if you know them, please get in touch.

“This happened at a busy time of the evening, so please think back and if you remember seeing anything let us know.”
