We’ve ridden the crest of a new revolution; the advent of computers and their integration into work and play has changed almost everything we do.
From sprawling server farms to mobile phones, most of us are using a processor of some form on a regular basis.
Many of us use computers while working, smartwatches or MP3 players while exercising, smart TVs while relaxing and GPS while driving.
These pictures show a variety of people using machines for many different reasons.
One of the images shows a behemoth of a machine at a computer fair, while another, not quite so large, one was said to be able to translate 3,000 words per hour.
A picture from 1984 shows Peter Stevens and Alan Lloyd with their copies of ZX Spectrum classic Defenda.
