A MAJOR police search was carried out in Fordingbridge by officers hunting a wanted man.
Uniformed officers, dog units and a police helicopter were involved in the search for William Sheen last night.
But today Hampshire Police has confirmed they failed to locate the 21-year-old, who is wanted in connection with burglary incidents in the Ringwood area.
Police said Sheen is known to visit Bournemouth and Salisbury but is mainly thought to be in the Ringwood area.
Searches were carried out across a wide area including Fordingbridge junior and infant schools, Riverside Place and Penny's Lane.
The helicopter was seen in the area again this morning.
Anyone who sees him or knows of his whereabouts, is asked not to approach him but to call police immediately on 101 or 999 in the event of an emergency.
Alternatively, members of the public can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
