A STUDENT who was dealing drugs from halls at Southampton Solent University has been jailed.

Oluwaseyi Oyeyemi, 22, was reported to the police for behaving suspiciously at Lucia Foster Welch halls of residence at Southampton Solent University.

Officers launched a raid on his room and discovered cannabis, MDMA, deal bags, scales, five mobile phones, and £1730 cash.

Oyeyemi, of Cloudesley Road, Kent, later pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply class A and class B drugs, and has today been jailed for three years and eight months.

Detective Constable Sean Owens from the western investigation team based at Southampton 's central police station said: "This case demonstrates the importance of reporting suspicious behaviour and possible drug-related activity to us.

"The community, our partners, all of us working together, allows us to pursue illegal activity and put evidence before the courts to make Southampton safer, for students, residents and visitors.
