'MICK was caring, loving, kind, and always helpful to others".

Those were the words of a family of a man who died in a crash on a Hampshire road on Saturday.

Michael Betts, 52, was driving a Mercedes on Belmont Road, Chandler's Ford, when he crashed into a parked Ford Transit van at about 6.24pm on Saturday.

He was pronounced dead at the scene and now Mr Betts' family have paid tribute to him.

They said: "He was a selfless man and was devoted to his partner, as well as a loving son, brother, uncle and friend.

"We are devastated but he will always be in our thoughts.

"He lived life to the full and we will miss him every day.

"The family would also like to say thank you to anyone who tried to help him that evening."

Mr Betts worked at Romanza in Bournemouth, a restaurant run by the family of his partner.

Anyone who witnessed the crash is asked to contact police on 101, quoting 44180025990.
