FIREFIGHTERS rushed to a Southampton property after reports of a blaze in a flat.
Two crews from St Mary’s fire station and one from Hightown were called to James Street at around 7pm on Sunday to an incident on the first floor of a building.
A spokesperson for Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that the fire was caused by candles left unattended.
The service said that nobody was in the property when the fire broke out.
The spokesperson also said that the flat was damaged but that nearby flats were not affected by the fire.
Firefighters left the scene at 7.43pm.
No injuries were reported.
