POLICE are appealing for information after significant damage was caused to Mansel Park and a football pitch by motorcyclists.

Hampshire Constabulary were called around 4.35pm on Sunday January 7 to a report that two off road motorcycles were being ridden around the Millbrook area and in Mansel Park.

The bikes caused significant damage to the park and football pitch.

Police have released images of the people they are keen to identify and find out where the bikes are being stored.

The bikes and riders have been described as:

• a yellow off road bike, with a rider wearing either a navy blue or black jacket, gloves and protective head gear which was black, white and red in colour, and a GoPro camera
• a red off road bike, with a rider wearing a navy blue jacket, navy blue Adidas tracksuit bottoms with white stripes and a white and red crash helmet, and a pillion passenger wearing grey tracksuit bottoms, a black hooded jumper with the hood up and no protective headgear.

PC Simon Peacock, from Southampton West Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “The manner of the riding is dangerous and it puts the lives of the riders and members of the public at risk.

“I would urge for anyone who recognises these bikes or any of the clothing in the images to call 101 quoting 44180008225, in confidence if you would prefer.

“I would also ask anyone who captured what happened on camera, either on a phone or a dash cam, to call us on 101 or email the Southampton West NPT team at operation.torque@hampshire.pnn.police.uk.”
