SALISBURY have signed Olly Mehew from League Two outfit Forest Green Rovers for a second loan spell.

The 20-year-old striker went straight into the squad for yesterday’s trip to Cirencester Town, going on as substitute in a 3-2 Evo-Stik South West win.

Whites twice took the lead through Danny Young and Owen Howe, but were pegged back on both occasions by Henry Spalding and Aidan Bennett.

The honours looked destined to be shared until, with just two minutes remaining, Claudio Herbert struck from Tom Whelan’s through ball to earn the second-placed Wiltshire side a fifth straight win.

*JOEL Jackson has stepped up two levels to join Gosport Borough’s fight for Evo-Stik South Premier survival.

The striker has moved across the harbour from Baffins Milton Rovers, having scored 17 goals in 23 appearances for the Sydenhams Premier club.

Gosport, though, were taught a lesson in finishing at Royston Town yesterday as they slumped to a hefty 5-0 defeat.

They trailed to goals from Sam Corcoran, Adam Marriott and John Frendo at half-time. Frendo struck again after the break before Marriott wrapped things up with a late penalty.

With just one team due to be relegated this season, Borough remain two points adrift of Dunstable Town at the foot of the table but have two games in hand.
