A spokesperson from Hampshire Fire and Rescue said: "Three fire engines and a special equipment unit and officer were dispatched to the scene and a male was cut out of one of the vehicles and taken to hospital".
One witness said that due to the wet conditions a car slid into another one on the roundabout. "Then there were flashing lights and it all went a bit mad."
Another said: "The police closed off part of the roundabout, and there were fire and ambulance crews all over it. I saw someone being cut out of a car. It was carnage."
