A HAMPSHIRE MP visited a Hampshire animal rescue centre.
Fareham MP Suella Fernandes joined staff and volunteers at the RSPCA’s Stubbington Ark animal shelter on Friday, December 15.
During her visit, the MP got stuck in with the volunteers to care for the many animals at the shelter.
Among them was five-year-old Lily the cat, who was abandoned in Southampton and suffered from skin problems and needed regular medication.
The MP also learned of the many success stories at the shelter, including that of Socks, a 16-year-old dog who was morbidly obese, suffering from arthritis, and the victim of animal cruelty.
Ms Fernandes said: “There are lots of opportunities for volunteering, I would urge anyone interested in working with animals to look into helping out at the shelter.”
