STUDENTS at Southampton University have raised nearly £40,000 for charity in just four months.

Money raised by the Raise and Give (RAG) team at will go to more than 20 charities, including CLEAR Mind and AIDS Orphan.

Socities taking part including the Hindu society, Korfball and the SUSingers - who raised money with events including 24 hour bike rides, pumpkin carving, charity quiz nights, Santa walks, charity auctions and bake sales.

Charlie Morris, 2017-18 RAG President, said: “I am so proud of the huge amount of money students have raised this term. Everyone has worked so hard and the total reflects that.

“It shows that when students come together for great causes we really can make such a difference.”

Dan Varley, Students’ Unions’ VP Engagement, added: “Congratulations and well done to everyone who has fundraised so far this year.

“Your hard work and dedication has worked towards this fantastic total.”
