EVERY year hundreds brave the waves on New Year’s Day to take a dip in the Solent to raise money for charity.
Many are in fancy dress, and some are nursing hangovers as they take the icy plunge.
Men, women and children of all ages congregate upon the shore at Stoke’s Bay.
If the weather is fine the event can attract thousands of spectators to cheer on the courageous souls taking part.
