SOUTHAMPTON superstar Craig David will headline Mutiny Festival next summer.

The Southampton sensation will headline the main stage on Sunday, May 27, at King George V Fields in Cosham with his

esteemed TS5 show, a massive hit at Bestival in 2014 and his Mayflower Theatre residences in September.

The show combines massive ‘old-skool’ anthems, R&B, swing beat, garage, bashment and chart-topping house.

The star, who grew up on Southampton’s Holyrood estate and attended Bellemoor School, developed the set after launching a second career as a DJ where he performed a record-breaking summer residency at the TS5 Pool Party in Ibiza across 10 weeks.

Elliot Dalton, from the Mutiny Festival organising team, said: “We want a mix of international and UK talent.

“Everyone last year said that they wanted someone local, so we got Hampshire’s very own.

“Craig David’s music will always be loved by everyone regardless of age. One day he is collaborating with Krupt FM, the next he appears on Strictly Came Dancing with Bastille.

“Mutiny is continuing to grow, allowing us to tap into new genres and filter to a wider audience.”

Last year, more than 30,000 peopled descended over the two days for the fourth year of the festival.
